Flower Dedications
Traditionally, cut flowers have adorned Old First’s altar each week, contributed by Old Firsters as a dedication or memorial to honor a loved-one. In 2011, we’ve decided to switch to live flowers that will beautify our sanctuary one moment, and then grow outdoors in our urban farm for the rest of the season!
To dedicate a contribution of live flowers, please follow these guidelines:
- At least one week prior to your preferred Sunday, contact the Church Office to request that particular date and let us know how you would like the dedication printed in the bulletin.
- Check the list below for the plants on our “wish list.”
- Shop at your local nursery for the plants you would like to donate.
- Bring them with you to church on your scheduled Sunday, and place them on the altar.
The garden committee will plant the flowers outdoors during the subsequent week.
