Susan DeAngelus, the chair of the Pastoral Discernment Task Force, reminds us that the 3rd of 4 Community Conversations will take place this Sunday immediately after worship.
What’s Pastoral Discernment? The church is being invited now to discuss whether or not it believes that Michael should be called as the Settled Pastor (now that the 3 years of Covenant Ministry have been completed).
These conversations mean to ask people to think about these last years when Michael and the church have ministered together; where we are now; what we believe God is asking of our church next; and whether or not Michael is the right pastoral leader to help the church move in that direction.
Anyone interested is invited to join the conversation.
If anyone wants to speak privately, he or she may contact the members of the Pastoral Discernment Task Force or the Elders.
After the final scheduled conversations (for Oct. 21), the Pastoral Discernment Task Force will meet and prepare a recommendation for the Elders, who in turn, will bring a proposal before the congregation at a meeting scheduled for Nov. 18.
