Advent Bible Study (12.02/09/16/23 @ 10 am) for Adult Forum

“Come Thou Long Expected Jesus:
Prophecy and the Coming of the Messiah”

The Advent Bible Study will focus on messianic prophecy and the Christian understanding of its fulfillment — the way the OT prophecies included in the lectionary help us to understand the significance of Jesus’ coming.

Jesus entered a world full of expectations. History was not an aimless march of events, but had purpose and direction, established long ago by God and announced by God’s prophets. Jesus lived God’s purposes, fulfilling ancient hopes and anticipations.

The Advent Adult Forum will focus on the prophetic vision of a coming Messiah and new realm of God and Jesus’ enactment of God’s desires for history so that we may see our own history as directed by a loving God.
