There are several special events on the calendar at Old First that you won’t want to miss:
- Sunday, Sept. 24 – Anniversary Sunday. Join us for our 290th Anniversary celebratory worship at 11 am, followed by a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share. If your last name begins with the letters A-G, please bring an appetizer. If it begins with H-R, please bring a casserole or entree. If it begins with S-Z, bring a salad. Birthday cake and beverages will be provided
- Sunday, Sept. 24 – New Songs at Old First, a music performance by Miguel Angel at 4 pm. Half of the proceeds will go to support our Outreach ministries. Tickets are $25 at the door.
- Sunday, Oct. 1 – 50th Anniversary of Return to 4th & Race. Join us for worship at 11 and celebrate our rich history.
- Sunday, Oct. 8 – World Communion Sunday. Celebrate with us the universality of faith and room at the Table for all.
- Sunday, Oct. 15 – Blessing of the Animals – Weather permitting, our service will be outside so that our furred, finned and feathered friends can join us. After worship, a service fair for pets belonging to homeless people will be held. A coalition of agencies, led by My Dog is My Home will provide veterinary services, grooming and counseling. There might be a prize for the most exotic animal someone brings to worship!
- Sunday, Oct. 29 – Reformation Sunday – Join us for worship as we celebrate 500 years of changes in church worship, belief and culture.
