Change is often difficult and usually something you can’t REALLY prepare for. However scary, change can also be wonderful.

I have wanted to move to Germany for a very long time & am excited to be doing so on September 20. The thought first came to me seriously in 2015 when I was leaving graduate school. I had never been there and I wasn’t fully confident in the language but I knew that it was a great place to pursue the arts.

Three years after graduate school, I am now ready to begin my journey. This past March, I traveled to the town of Meiningen to audition for the Meininger Staatstheater. This incredible theater sits in a sleepy little town in central Germany. The people were generous, the food was amazing and the opportunities seemed endless. When I returned to Pennsylvania, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was moving. I hadn’t really fully “returned” home.

I couldn’t feel more lucky to have been part of the incredible family at Old First for the better part of a year. I was so grateful for Holly’s invitation to share my musical gifts and Old First quickly won my heart.  Everyone has always been so incredibly supportive of me that I can’t imagine a community with whom I’d rather share this news.

I will be performing a fundraising recital on Monday, Sept 17th at 7 pm. (Details below)

This recital and reception is not only a means for me to raise money to help my continued studies over in Germany with top notch coaches and teachers, it is also to share with people the importance and beauty that music has in our lives.

I will have a widely varied repertoire with show tunes, art songs and arias as well as sacred songs. I have been lucky enough to work with loving and supportive people who have helped me grow as a musician and artist. It is my dream to share that with every one of you before I leave.

I hope to see many of you there. The recital is free admission, but we will have a donation basket in which people are invited to share what they are able.
