Anniversary Sunday Schedule, 09.25

For the second week in a row, Old First has a pack Sunday schedule. (Whatever happened to the day of rest?)

We hope this week won’t be quite as “squished” with so many activities so close together as last Sunday. But we do hope that many will take advantage of what’s offered and lend us their time and spirit to participate.

In addition to the events listed below, it’s T-Shirt Sunday. Wear your Old First t-shirt with pride! Don’t have one yet? Billi will be selling them in the lower narthex before the worship service.

9:00 a.m. Choir Practice

9:45 New Sunday School Gathering (debuting the cartoon introduction of the Sunday School theme)

10:00
~ First Day of Sunday School for the children
~ Adult Forum: “Our Heritage of Hymns at Old First,” led by Bob Schneider

11:00 Festival Worship for Anniversary Sunday, with the Rev. Geneva Butz, guest preacher

12:10 p.m.:
~ We’re going to take a anniversary photo of the congregation. We’ll then take a photo of everyone wearing their Old First T-shirts.
~ Anniversary Sunday Potluck Luncheon, in the front courtyard, weather permitting. Bring a dish to share. Deliver to kitchen before worship.

1:30:
~ For people wishing to wait at church for the P.O.W.E.R. meeting, Michael will set up a big television and make popcorn– we can watch the Eagles game.
~ Alternately, this might be a nice block of time to do something with a church friend, or someone you’ve been meaning to get to know better. The neighborhood offers options, and there’s enough time to even go further astream.

5:00 The bus will leave 4th & Race for the P.O.W.E.R. Founding Convention.
We have more than a bus-load going, so some of us will have to go by subway.

PLEASE EITHER HAVE REGISTERED ON-LINE AND PRINTED OUT YOUR TICKET OR MAKE SURE THAT MICHAEL HAS YOUR NAME ON HIS OLD FIRST MASTER LIST– this will greatly speed up entry, as you will go right to your seat!

5:30 P.O.W.E.R. Founding Convention (1 & 1/2 hour meeting). The Men’s Gospel Choir from Harold O. Davis Baptist Church will be performing while the crowd is getting seated. Look for the signs for where Old First is seated!
