Thank you to everyone in our congregation who attended and participated in our conversation last Sunday on the future of our shelter. The committees who have brought this before you and the panelists all appreciate that we were provided the time and space to have this difficult conversation. We received responses from many of you- whether you handed it in or mailed it to Megan- but we also know, whether due to concerns of parking or just needing more time to process information, that many of you have not yet participated and wish to. So far we’ve had some excellent questions asked, including “how many OFUCC members volunteer annually at the winter shelter?” and thoughtful statements such as “I’m concerned that we’ll be able to continue doing what we do best- providing a sense of community, with this new permanent housing.” Overall, people seemed satisfied with the amount of information we discussed and appreciated the focus of the conversation and the preparedness of our panelist. Many responses indicated that they would be able to make a decision sooner rather than later. If you haven’t responded yet, its not too late- we want to hear from as many people as possible, to help determine how we should best proceed. We will have the response sheets in this week’s bulletin or if you prefer to respond digitally, you can do so here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KMLVQSM
Thank you for sharing in this important conversation.
