Beth D. Organizing the Ad Hoc Discernment Task Force (to find new church leaders)

Each year, about this time, the Elders initiate a process to identify people who are willing to serve as leader for the church. There are Elders, Standing Group Leaders, Directors and others who get elected each year at the congregation’s Annual Meeting the last Sunday of January.

At their December meeting, they asked Beth D. to organize the Task Force for this year.

There is room for a host of other people who are not elected to serve in various leadership capacities at Old First, on Standing Leadership Groups, in Fellowship Groups, and Ministry Teams. Old First’s governance/mission structure is designed to be open and make ministry possible and accessible to all.

But there are some elected positions. And the Ad Hoc Discernment Task Force is responsible with making us all aware of those opportunities for leadership and service, and finding people with the gifts and callings to be elected to serve in those roles.

It’s an important job for our church. It’s a short term task, finishing before the Annual Meeting. If you are interested in working on this, or if you have an interested in serving our church in another way, please speak to Beth.
