May I ask folks to join me this week in a social media action for the continuation of $600 a week unemployment benefits?
Here’s the plan: working with some of the big unions (Mike and I work for Unite Here, the hospitality Workers’ union), there is a campaign to take a number of actions this coming week to raise public support and to pressure the Congress to continue the $600 a week.
Could you join me in is by agreeing to fast for the day this coming Tuesday, August 11 and post a photo of an empty plate on social media with a note about what you’re fasting for, using the hashtag #FastAction. Below is:
