Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly pet to church this Sunday for a special blessing. It’ll be a fun service that’s not too churchy, so invite a friend or neighbor, no matter what faith their pet professes. In addition to blessings for Christian dogs and cats, we can probably pull off a Baruch for a Jewish horse, an Assalamu Alaikum for a Muslim bird, a Namaste for a Hindu frog, or a Wai for a Tai pet snake. We can probably, on the fly, even come up with a blessing for a pet who professes to be of no faith as well. Weather permitting, we will worship outside in the front courtyard. So a jacket and sunglasses are good preparation.
After the service we will have a service fair for pets belonging to our homeless neighbors. We’ll be offering free grooming, vaccines and pet supplies. These services are offered thanks to our partnership with My Dog is My Home, Misfit Manor, Avery’s Grooming, EmanciPet and West Chester University. Please get the word out to anyone who could benefit from these services.
