Bob Robinson’s Advent Bible Study is an annual favorite around Old First. And this year, it will be back at it’s normal slot, the hour before worship, in the Social Hall. Bob leads the group most often through the prophesies of the Advent of Christ, as we move towards Christmas. People who know the Bible very well and those who hardly at all will be equally comfortable and engaged by the discussions. Bob has this way of making the passages not only make sense but come alive in meaning for our daily lives. Please come if you are interested; invite others.
Bob is just off his successful summer run as Old First’s sabbatical interim. Before that, he served as the Hebrew Bible professor for about 20 years at Philadelphia’s Lutheran Theological Seminary; Bob retired last spring. He is also an ordained Christian Church / Disciples of Christ minister with partnership standing in the UCC.
Class will begin each week at 10 in the Social Hall. Bring a Bible if you can (or we have some — we’re a church after all!)
