Old First’s neighborhood is abuzz with coffee. Coffee shops on every corner. Hipsters walking down sidewalks carrying coffee cups. Why, even Old Firsters often arrive at church on Sunday morning with a to-go cup in hand.
Coffee as a cultural phenomenon gives us a new strategy for getting our message out to our nearby Old City neighbors: custom-printed coffee sleeves.
Coffee sleeves are the little pieces of cardboard that wrap around a to-go coffee cup to put an extra layer between sensitive hands and the hot liquid. We printed up a few hundred coffee sleeves with the church’s physical and Web site addresses. Two coffee shops in the neighborhood–Sassafras Market and Cafe Ole on 3rd Street–have both agreed to hand out the sleeves to coffee customers.
Many thanks to Susan D for designing the artwork.
