A wonderful thing happens when church people gather outside of worship and meetings: we get to talk to one another… to begin to share personally who we are and some details of our lives. It’s weird when you think about it, but most usual gatherings of the church, we’re often prevented from talking to each other… really speaking to one another? (That’s why making the most of fellowship hour matters– both why we tend to need time catching up with whom we know and why we need to deliberately try and talk with new people as well!)
Come this Saturday night and help decorate the sanctuary for Christmas. We hang the wreathes. And the garland. Ok, Alice can get “exacting” about the garland swags! But doing it right takes more than one person, and it’s fun working together on something we will all enjoy.
And We talk and laugh and stand around. We’ll have something warm to drink (of the hot chocolate or hot cider variety) and something sweet to eat.
We’ve invited the youth from both the Middle and High School Youth Groups. They are welcome to arrive at 6 for pizza.
But don’t let this be one of those projects we leave to the kids. Come and join them. You might even look forward to getting to talk with them and know them better.
We’re getting started at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We usually finish a bit after 9. Come for the whole time or drop in for part. We need your help, and you need the exposure!
