As a end of Summer (and beginning to a new church school year) celebration our middle school youth group, are going tubing on the Delaware River on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Yes, this is the rescheduled trip — we were right in calling it off on July 26, a torrential washout!
The middle school youth are still inviting the whole church. A lazy afternoon of floating down the Delaware River in an intertube. An afternoon with your people from church in bathing suits!!! How can you resist?
We’ll leave church after worship, by about 12:30. The tubing starts in Frenchtown, NJ. And we hope to be there by about 2 p.m. The float trip lasts about 3 to 4 hours on the river. And there is lunch included mid-float, with the famous River Hot Dog Man (and picnic tables in the water). We should be back at church by about dinner time.
The cost of admission and with some money the drivers for gas will be $35. (We are looking for adults and drivers to go with us.)
Bring a swimsuit and a towel. And sturdy shoes that can get wet. (The tubing outfit recommends lace tennis shoes. Crocks, flip flops and water shoes can be dangerous on the rocky river bed.)
Let Michael know if you want to get wet and have some fun. Wouldn’t it be a great start to a packed program year to spend 3 hours on a sunny afternoon floating down the Delaware. Why it’s almost the definition of an experience of grace!
