Hello Old First! On behalf of the Joint Ventures Ministry Team, you are invited to a congregational presentation on April 10, at 1:00 pm on Zoom (to allow time for a break following worship). The JVMT has been working at warp speed towards breaking ground on our new building. In a short time, our plans, which we have shared will be public as they are submitted to the Historic Commission for review. In an effort to both update our congregation and also prepare everyone for what will be shared publicly, Community Ventures will be making a presentation about the current status of the project. (The plans need to be submitted to the Historic Commission by this Tuesday, April 12 to be reviewed by the Architecture Committee on April 26 and by the full Historical Commission on May 13.)
We are EXCITED. The building is looking great and our team is ready for this next step. We ask you to remember that this has been a multi year process and we have had so many conversations- likely overlapping with things you may be concerned about. This project is shaped by our needs, the needs of our partners, and the city building code. In some areas- its a compromise. Our teams are doing the best we can within the parameters of what building codes and time permits allow.
This presentation is “big picture”- not the small details. The details on the interior are still in development, but we won’t be discussing them at this meeting. We’re looking at the spaces, the layout, the exterior design, but not the exact brick color or room paint. We aren’t talking about parking or landscaping. Those conversations will come, we promise. In the meantime- join us as we share all of the great progress we have made. Join our excitement as this project progresses towards a groundbreaking.
