Elizabeth Manus, will Be our Featured Guest Organist for 8 p.m. Christmas Eve service

We are pleased to welcome guest organist, Elizabeth Manus, for our 8 p.m. Christmas Eve service!  We are not only excited to have Elizabeth with us sharing her musical gifts, but doubly excited to hear our beautiful, freshly repaired and tuned (!) organ filling our sanctuary with its glorious colors, after such a very long pause.  We are hopeful to procure a part-time organist for the coming 2017 year, and ask for continued prayers around that venture.
\Here is some information to help you get to know a bit more about Elizabeth before Saturday:
Elizabeth Manus brings a diverse background to her activity as a professional pianist and vocal coach. In addition to her expansive career as an accompanist, she has also presented solo recitals at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Painted Bride Theater, Ethical Society, and the Academy of Music Ballroom. Elizabeth’s classical training, combined with her extensive knowledge of vocal and instrumental repertoire, demonstrate her skill and versatility performing with choral groups, solo singers, instrumentalists, and orchestral ensembles.

Elizabeth is accompanist for the Bucks County Choral Society, and is on the piano faculty of Muhlenberg College. Elizabeth served as a staff pianist for the Foulger International Music Festival, Union, NJ. Past summers have included working with singers as an accompanist/vocal coach for the Germantown Institute for the Vocal Arts, Germantown, PA.

Elizabeth has also served as accompanist for the New England Music Camp, Sidney, Maine, and for the Strings International Music Festival, Philadelphia, PA, during which she performed with the festival chamber orchestra in Verizon Hall of the Kimmel Center. She performed as pianist with Choral Arts Society and the Delaware Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Mahler’s 8th Symphony given at Avery Fisher Hall in New York and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in piano, Elizabeth studied organ with David Spicer and Robert Elmore and served as organist and choir Director at Middletown Presbyterian Church, Elwyn, PA from 1982-86.  Since then she continues to serve as a supply organist for various churches in the Phila. region.
