What if the bible stories were not known, and people could only know who God and Jesus are by looking at what kind of institution and community the church is?
What if the bible stories were not known, and someone could only deduce anything about God as Jesus by looking at what kind of a person you are as a Christian?
Suddnly what we say and what we do has some more importance than we often think.
In our Gospel lesson this week, Jesus asks his disciples, “who do people say that I am?” Then he asks, “Who do you say that I am?”
The sermon will ask us to ask ourselves who we are saying — with our words and our actions — that Jesus is?
Some reflection and asking yourself honestly might be a good preparation for church this week…
