It’s a coincidence (of the Pope’s visit last week), that we will celebrate Anniversary Sunday and World Communion Sunday on the same day. That means, Old First is turning 288 years old… on the day when we remember not just our own history, but also our contemporary connection — through the Lord’s Supper — with Christians around the globe.
Michael will be preaching about the communion traditions of this church. (You might be surprised to hear about how much things have changed!)
To get yourself ready, you could think about some of the different times and places and ways that you have shared communion. And remember the people and communities with whom you have gathered around Jesus’ table.
See you in church (rain, flood or shine!)…
