There’s a story of a young man who asked Jesus a question. “Good Teacher, what do I need to do to inherit eternal life?” This Sunday, Amy Davin, a young woman, is going to be our teacher and preacher (though Michael will be present and assisting Amy as the liturgist).
Amy will be asking us to consider our attachments in the hope that we won’t go away grieving.
Getting ready for worship, might you be bold enough to ask yourself honestly, deeply what you are too attached to? (You don’t need to tell anyone else!)
Amy is one of our newest members, though she worshiped with us all last year. After graduating from Harvard Divinity School, she came to Philly to compete a year-long internship in Clinical Pastoral Education at Einstein. Now finished with that, she expects to stay in town, begin work soon as a Hospice Chaplain, and complete the ordination process back in her home church in Massachusetts.
