Help us Make the Y.oung A.dult S.ervice C.ommunity Feel at Home

In just four weeks we will welcome Clara and Tim, the 2nd year of Young Adult Service Community interns (we call them Community Ministers). Look for their self-introductions here on the website in the next week or so.

In preparation for their arrival, we have taken stock of the needs for the apartment that Margaret, Julie, and Kayla have inhabited.

Another YASC host church has a “giving tree” that congregants can pluck leaves from that have an item that the community needs or wants. Old First has the “hand in” tree right now so to ease confusion, we’ll make it simple with a list.

Some of these items are essential needs and some are things that would be nice to offer during their first month here to help them settle in.

Must haves:

~two plastic shower curtain liners
~a hanging rack for pots/pans or a small storage shelf for the kitchen
(the knives and pots/pans have already been donated!)

Kind Gestures:

~ a “cleaning basket” stocked with household cleaning supplies
~gift cards to places near “home” – Race Street Café, Starbucks, Café Ole, National Constitution Center, Ritz movies, etc.
~ 1 month membership to Netflix

Please let me — Billi! — know know if you can provide any of these items (her contact info. is in the REALM directory, or call the church office to get it, or to leave a message for her).
