High Schoolers: Let Us Introduce the Lancaster Seminary Leadership Academy (06.21-28)

Michael got two messages on Monday, May 19 — from Cody L., an Old First member who lives and works in D.C. these days, and Ally V., the daughter of his friend John who offered the charge at Michael’s installation and now known to some of the O.F. Young Adults herself — encouraging us to consider sending referring interested High Schoolers to this summer’s Leadership NOW Academy at Lancaster Seminary.

Both Cody and Ally attended. And a few years ago, Daniel W. went too.

What’s the Leadership NOW Academy?

It is not simply a summer camp; it’s a community of young people, led by young people, built around a desire to explore deep questions about faith and life.

Young people attending the Leadership NOW Academy take classes in biblical interpretation led by Lancaster Theological Seminary faculty, participate in workshops led by peers, and design and lead worship services.

Most importantly our Leadership Now Academy provides space for youth to build relationships with other young people who ask big questions about themselves, their faith, and the world.

If you are interested in conversation and community this is a place for you…

It runs this summer from Saturday, June 21 to Saturday, June 28 on the campus of Lancaster Seminary. We’re past the application deadline, but they still so have some openings (but we need to move fast). And we can probably help with costs if they are a deterrent!

Here’s more info., including the application process. Let Michael know if you or your child is interested…
