Good Afternoon Faithful Volunteers and Supporters,
You are likely receiving a plethora of emails about Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday and here we are at Wednesday with no catchy name. Despite the lack of catchy name, I am reaching out to you about Old First’s Alternative Gift campaign for this year.
Each year Old First takes on a charity campaign as a way to give gifts to people who do not need material objects. A person donates funds towards the campaign and receives a card to send to their recipient. The money given for Alternative Gifts this year is going towards providing backpacks that we will fill with socks, toboggans, gloves, one bottle of water, and snacks. Our goal is to fill 100 backpacks to give to the guests of our men’s shelter and the guests at our Saturday Cupboard. Every penny we collect for Alternative Gifts will go to purchasing the backpacks and items to fill them. We ran this same campaign six years ago and exceeded expectations for donations for the backpacks. With your help we can exceed our previous success!
Wondering how you can help?
You can start a collection of gently used backpacks, packs of socks, gloves, or other items that we can put into the backpacks and get them to Old First by December 23rd.
You can purchase and Alternative Gift for someone special in your life and I will send you a greeting card for the recipient.
You can make a financial contribution towards this project.
Ways to contribute:
You can mail a check made out to Old First with Alternative Gift written in the memo line
