Karen B. to Share Her Artistic Talents with Us

If you are in church this Sunday, you will notice a new bulletin cover. a peice of original art from Karen B. (If you aren’t here this week, we will use it for awhile…)

Karen and her husband Rich were members of our Old First community until they relocated to Maine last year. (Rich is working as a social worker; Karen is doing her art. They have bought a home in Lewiston, ME. And are doing well and happy. If you want to contact them or find out more about Karen’s art, you may use Karen’s website: karenbrooksartwork.com.

Karen will also be helping us out with a baby Jesus for the creche. No, they aren’t having a baby for us to have play the Christchild on Christmas Eve!

Instead, Karen is going to paint a baby Jesus for us to use in the manger once Christmas has come. You might remember that we replaced the mannequins that were beat up badly with a full set of the painted 2-dimensional painted Creche figures, but we only got the adults, Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, the Magi. We did not get a baby Jesus. (Last year, we used Frannie DeAngelus’ doll!) Karen will paint a Jesus this fall, and we will add him to our set this Christmas.
