Ken’s Kabaret,, the regular showcase of new and emerging talent, will again be in residence in the Sanctuary at Old First on Monday, June 20 at 7 p.m. Admission will be $10. What better way to get a taste of theater art on the night when Philly’s other stages are dark.
The guest Emcee will be Fred Siegel, a magician and Performance Studies professor at Drexel.
The performances will include:
• Nova D’Arts Collective performing “Our Father”-- an issue drama by Playwright Davon Williams. He takes us deep into an unsettling dilemma where love, murder & human dignity are all in the balance.
• Michael Ladenson: a Philadelphia writer, director, dramaturge, copywriter & teacher. His plays have been performed in NY, Philadelphia & Washington. Rachel, Phoebe & Max are his most exciting creations.
•Acting Without Boundaries & A.W.B., Jr: Unique theater programs for the creative & artistic expression of children, teenagers & young adults with physical disabilities.
•Francis Menot: Captivates audiences with original, unforgettable magic. Francis was also honored to perform for President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
•Louis Greenstein: Reading from his novel in progress, currently titled “A Boardwalk Tale.” It’s an epic comedy about love, loss, loyalty, memory, death, drugs, juggling, soft pretzels, and Atlantic City in the 1960s & 70s.
• A troubadour that rocks…really! Tony Mecca serves wisdom via delicious storytelling with Pop, Blues, Folk & plain old Rock ‘n Roll!
Join us, enjoy the show, and, informally, help us welcome the Ken’s Kabaret crowd into our community.
