In the last few days, we’ve had interest and a commitment from another youth. A friend of Daniel’s from Central and a member of St. Peter’s heard about the trip and is ready to go. She can even get a ticket on the same flights as the rest of us! That means 10 of us are now scheduled to become short-term missionaries in Central America.
So, if the Spirit moves you, please talk with Michael or Marjorie right away. Our trip is June 25 to July 5. It’s not to late to see another country, do some helpful mission work up in the rural mountains, and climb a volcano to see the lagoon up in its crater. But the clock is ticking!
Likewise, we have register four of us — Anna, Madelyn, Billi and Michael — for the UCC’s National Youth Event at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, July 10-13. Billi and Michael will also be supervising two older high school women from St. Jame’s UCC in Limmerick, PA (who wanted to go, but didn’t have adults who could go with them.).
Registration closes this coming Monday, May 21. So if you want to come to a really great event with almost 3,000 teens from across the country? If you want to do service projects, go to interesting workshops, and get to hear some really interesting speakers (entertainers, musicians, social activists), talk with Michael or Billi immediately!
