The Congregational Life SLG is planning several opportunities throughout Lent and on Easter for Old Firsters to gather. Please join us!!
Soup, Pray, Love
Ash Wednesday, February 14, 6 pm
Share a bowl of soup with your Valentine and fellow Old Firsters on Ash Wednesday. We’ll gather in the social hall beginning at 6 pm for a brief time of fellowship prior to worship at 7 pm.
We’re looking for a small number of volunteers willing to bring a pot of soup to share. Can you help? Email Devan <email@example.com> or contact Suzanne C (contact info in Breeze).
It’s time to resurrect our tradition of Lenten Suppers in the homes of Old Firsters! Those of you who were part of the congregation in 2019 and before will remember this tradition. A few Old Firsters volunteer to host a small number of fellow members of the congregation (generally 6-8 people) for a simple potluck meal. Everyone signs up for the event that fits their schedule. Hosts work out the details of the potluck with those attending their event.
Would you be willing to host? We’re targeting the week of March 4, but you can select the date and time in Lent that works best for you. If you’re interested in hosting, email Devan <firstname.lastname@example.org> or contact Suzanne C (contact info in Breeze).
(There looks to be an effort among the families with young children to gather during Lent too. They had a tradition of get-togethers before the pandemic restrictions too. Look for an e-mail asking about your availability and scheduling, and how you might think it best to get everyone together… )
And be on the lookout for information on how to sign up to attend.
We’ll celebrate Easter Joy on Sunday, March 31 with an Easter breakfast at 9:30 am. Look for more information soon about what you can bring to share.
See you in church,
