Good Friday evening we remember Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. We gather in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m.
Good Friday at Old First for the last few years has also become an offering of the faith of the lay people of this church. We’re not surprised, but always moved by people’s reflections on Jesus’ last words from the cross. People also offer musical reflections.
This year, the reflections will be:
Colin K — “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
Beth W. — “This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
Trixie — “Woman, behold thy son.” (John 19:26)
Clark — “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me.” (Mark 15:34)
Mike K. — “I thirst.” (John 19:28)
Amy — “It is finished.” (John 19:30)
Greta S. — “Into thy hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)
Our musicians will be Louis, Meg O., Marjorie, Renaldo, Yajeh, Teetee and Greta.
Join us for a night of long shadows, but enduring love!
(If you cannot join us Friday night, we will also be in the Sanctuary from 12 noon to # p.m. for the Vigil, and you might drop in and leave as needed.)
