Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, Adult Forum Starting this Sun., Jan. 6

(Editor’s Note: Apologies for incorrectly announcing the start date for this new Adult Christian Education offering. It begins this Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Social Hall!)

What is the “pursuit of happiness” referred to in the Declaration of Independence? For that matter, what is happiness?

Beginning January 6, Adult Forum will begin a new series of discussions called “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” They are intended to be an open conversation, and the presentations are being developed particularly to invite all the participants to contribute their thoughts and experiences.

Bastian Liu will be the facilitator. He hopes to start a topical dialogue on our basic human rights — such as life, liberty and happiness. We will have discussions on their spiritual implications, to enrich our lives. In other words, there will be no presentation of particular view point. This class isn’t intended to be any sort of lecture or presentation, so much as facilitating discussion among a group of people with very diverse views.

From Epiphany to Easter, we will be watching theologians, clergy, scientists and others share their findings on life and religion. We will also engage in group projects and interactive games.

Please join us as we ask questions and look for answers to our understanding of God. The Adult Forum meets every Sunday in the Social Hall at 10 a.m.
