Looking for 15 Old First Home for 1 Night’s Hospitality

The New Amsterdam Boys and Girls Choir will be with us on the weekend of May 6 and 7. They will be providing the music for our worship that Sunday.

They will arrive at Old First midday on Saturday. There will sight-see historic sites and maybe the African American Museum that afternoon.
They will come back to Old First for a supper with us. (I am still working out the details of that meal — would like to see if a group within the church would like to host it as a BBQ, and then others of us bring side dishes and desserts.)
This would allow us to spend some time with the members of the choir and their director, James Backmon, and parents traveling along with them. We could get to know about the program and the young people in it. We could compare notes — how are Philly and NYC alike and different. Relationship building is always a blessing. Wouldn’t it be fun if our kids could come to dinner and meet their peers?

Our host families would take them home from the dinner at church. And offer them hospitality for the evening. And breakfast in the morning. And help get them back to church by 10 am in the morning for rehearsal before worship.

Older choir members, teens, will be traveling alone, and can come to someone’s house on their own or with another teen choir member (if you can host two people.)
The younger choir members are traveling with parents, so one of our families can expect to host, most often, a mother and her child.
(I am getting info. on allergies, comfort with pets, etc.)
Let me know if you can help out. Or if you have questions…
Thanks,
Michael
