Maundy Thursday: 4 Hymns, 3 Actions and John 13

Maundy Thursday: 4 Hymns, 3 Actions and John 13

Join us in the Sanctuary on Thursday, April 2 for our remembrance of Jesus’ Last Supper.

In Protestant tradition, the day is called Maundy Thursday, “maundy” being an Old English word meaning “commandment,” for this was the night that Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment… that they love one another. Alternatively, in Christian tradition, this day is known as Holy Thursday.

Our service will be simple, mostly organized around the 13th chapter of the Gospel of John. And reflections on 4 hymns: Abide with Me; Where Charity and Love Prevail; Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us with Your Love; and Let Us Break Bread Together.

And there will be three actions — a hug, a handwashing, our and sharing the Bread and the Cup.

Please join us. And invite other to come and participate too.
