My name is Richard Evans, although many of you may better know me as baby Chelsea’s dad. I was born in Jamaica and moved to the USA when I was very young. I studied finance at Temple University for undergrad and obtained my master’s degree in Business Analytics from Drexel University. While growing up in northern New Jersey, two things were important in our household; education and faith. My family attended church every Sunday and emphasized the importance of giving back and serving the community. I spent a great deal of time volunteering and had the opportunity to take a missionary trip to Haiti during middle school. These experiences have had a major impact on my life. Once I entered college, like many I lost touch with my faith. About seven years ago I found Old First and started coming on and off. Recently, I made the commitment to get my faith back on track and I have never turned back. Old First has been more than just a place to exercise my faith but a family to me. During my time attending Old First I have been called to get involved in many ways from the Saturday morning cupboard to Sunday school. I now look forward to serving the church in my new capacity as the Director of Stewardship. It is a great opportunity to use my talents to further the mission of our church and grow further in faith. I look forward to working with all of you!
