Midday Meeting, 11.11: The Religious Liberty Exhibit at the Constitution Center

This month’s Midday Meeting will be a short fieldtrip: just a block away from Old First, the Constitution Center is hosting an exhibit on “Religious Liberty and the Founding of America.” To see all the items in the exhibit and to read all the information shared, it will take about 30 minutes. For more information, check out their website.

Since we are headed over there, we will also stop in and see the 17-minute live performance “Freedom Rising” that serves as a general introduction to a visit to the Constitution Center.

And it all turns out that since the 11th is Veterans’ Day, the Constitution will be having a host of other activities to celebrate and thank those who have served their country. And in honor of that service, admission on the 11th will be free for veterans and only $5. for everyone else. Added programming, at least a $9.50 discount on admission, and a way to mark Veterans’ Day. Who can beat that?

(If anyone cannot go because of the admission price, please let Michael know: an angel has offered to cover anyone’s admission so that all may attend.)

The Midday Meeting is an open fellowship group at Old First for people who are free and want to get together once a month, on the second Wednesday. We meet at 1 p.m. with our brown bag lunches. During that time, we reconnect with one another and with God. About 1:30 p.m., we get started with our program. This month, that means we will leave for the Constitution Center about that time. We should be done about our normal time, a little before 3 p.m. Please join us, even if it’s your first time… And ask, if you have any questions.
