More Economy in our Bulletin Covers…

Back when we went to the larger size paper for a new bulletin format, we stopped using the UCC’s bulletin service, because the covers they provided were not offered in the new size of our bulletins. Instead, we set out to make our own covers with art from our community (even if we needed to have a single consistent cover for a whole season).

It hasn’t always been easy sourcing the art! And it’s much more expensive than we expected, in part, because we have to pay for color copies for both sides of the paper, even though the insides of the cover are only black and white.

Committed to being responsible and efficient, and good stewards of money given to the church for mission, we are trying something new. We’ve ordered the bulletin covers for this season again. We believe we can get what we need to onto the space provided by their smaller size. So we will have a different cover every Sunday, always with the UCC’s mission article on the back.

However, we are keeping our larger size bulletin. So the cover is more of a “wrap-around” and the “insides” — the order of service for the church you are attending, Old First, will stick out. It cuts the price per bulletin in half!

We are trying it out. Let yourself get used to it for awhile, and let us know what you think…
