Since moving to Philadelphia some eight years ago, I’ve always wanted to work with those marginalized in dense populations. My college experience at La Salle University formed a unique perspective of direct service, ministry, and organization. From that chapter of my life, I recognized that corporate work wasn’t for me. Living within my means meant living among those who walked a thin line between the working class and the working poor. This revelation is an honest look at the choices we have to make in order to live our lives authentically.
Starting at the end of this month, I will begin a position at Project Home as the Assistant Coordinator in the office of the organization’s Vice Presidents. This new role is the opportunity I’ve wanted for some years now. I finally have the ability to encourage mission and take chances on ending Homelessness. Yes, my hours at Old First will change, but nothing drastic. Monday through Friday: I’ll be available from 7:30 to 9p. And on weekends, my hours will fluctuate except for Sunday’s. If you have questions, please speak with me, Michael, or Nancy on Sunday. You can also go to https://projecthome.org/ to read more about the organization.
There is a deep joy within me that is overwhelmed with excitement. I’m embarking on a new chapter, and I’m hopeful to see what the future has in store for all of us.
Thank you to all who have encouraged and supported me in finding this position at Project Home. I’m so thankful, truly I am!
Finally, None of us are home until all of us are home!
