Last Saturday, New Goshenhoppen UCC came down from East Greenville, PA for the Saturday Breakfast and Clothing Cupboard. They cooked and served breakfast for the guests, and also brought nearly 20 boxes of donated pants! After serving breakfast, their volunteers stayed to help organize, sort, and clean up the clothing shed. It was such a tremendous blessing to have their help and donations!
Pastor Elaine shared some photos (below) of their sorting efforts before they brought the pants here, as well as the poster that they made for Old First! Plus, we included a few photos of the clothing shed after they organized everything!
New Goshenhoppen also dedicated the pants collection during their Sunday service prior to bringing them down to Old First. Pastor Elaine shared the prayer they used, as well.
“We pray your blessing, Loving God, on the hundreds of pairs of pants that have been donated and on all those who receive them. May your children sense the caring with which these were given, the dedication of all the volunteers involved in their sorting, transporting, and distribution, and the conviction we have to strive toward justice for all. May the success of this simple request for ‘pants, please’ prompt us toward greater goals for the good of all your children. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
