The United Church of Christ
Old First is one of over 5000 congregations across the United States that belong to the United Church of Christ (UCC). With colonial-era beginnings going back to the Pilgrims in New England and German immigrants in Pennsylvania, the UCC is a church with deep roots in the American story.
But we are not a museum. We keep evolving because God gives the Church a “responsibility… in each generation to make this faith its own in reality of worship, in honesty of thought and expression, and in purity of heart before God” Preamble of the UCC’s Constitution and By-laws.
Answering this call to minister and make a difference in its time and place, the UCC today embraces spiritual, social and intellectual values relevant to the 21st century and the needs of its people.
