For the past three months, it has been a joy to see just how many members of Old First are involved in supporting our Outreach programs. Nearly every day, someone from the church or community stops by with a clothing donation. In the spirit of this season, I am thankful every day for Old First’s commitment to Outreach.
At the same time, the need for warm winter clothing grows as the weather gets colder. So, we are asking you to dig deeper into the back of your closets (and into the closets of your neighbors, friends, family, and co-workers) and bring winter coats for our Saturday Clothing Cupboard guests this Sunday.
During our Offering time, we will ask you to bring these coats forward as an Offering of Winter Warmth. As we approach Thanksgiving and Advent, let us give thanks for what God has given us, and let us also remember that God calls us to pass on our gifts and provide for those in need.
