Old First Helps to Send Off POWER Founding Director

Old First Helps to Send Off POWER Founding Director
POWER Founding Director, Bishop Dwayne Royster, is being called to help lead the work of POWER’s national partner, the PICO National Network in Washington, DC.
A celebration wishing him farewell and Godspeed will be on Thursday, July 21st at 5:30 pm at Lutheran Theological Seminary in northwest Philadelphia.
To honor Bishop Royster’s tireless work to build POWER and advance the cause of the poor, oppressed, and marginalized in our city and state, POWER is establishing the Bishop Dwayne Royster Justice Fund to ensure the sustainability of his legacy.
A raffle will be held during the celebration to help raise money for this Fund.  Old First’s POWER team would like to ask the congregation if anyone has something to donate for the raffle in the name of Old First.
Raffle items could be goods or services valued at $50 or more. Maybe you have a gift certificate to a restaurant or spa you would consider donating.  Or maybe an overnight stay at your vacation house?  Could you offer singing lessons or a piece of art you have created?  If you would like to donate something, please contact Mimi Copp Johnson by July 8.
We would also like to have a few people attend the celebration to represent Old First.  Would you attend on July 21?  If so, please RSVP because space is limited. RSVP here or call the POWER office at 215-232-7697.
