Set aside time to spiritually prepare yourself to enter into the Advent season. Come to the Old First Advent Retreat on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 1:30-5:30 pm at the church. The retreat will be facilitated by Wanda Craner, ordained UCC pastor and spiritual director.
The afternoon will comprise of times to come together corporately and of times to be alone. All focused on taking a breath and entering into the movements of Advent exploring disciplines for birth and new life. Bring just yourself or bring along some items to aid your time in retreat (journal, sketch pad, walking shoes, meaningful images or objects, the Bible, etc…).
The retreat will close in a simple meal and communion. Snacks will be available in the afternoon.
Sign-up to attend by Friday, Nov. 24. Sign up through the online registration link below, call the church office, or fill out a paper form on Sundays. If you would like childcare during the retreat, please note when registering.
A freewill offering will be taken to cover the costs of the retreat (retreat facilitator, childcare, and food).

Rev. Wanda D. Craner served on the staff of the PSEC Conference for 19 years as the Minister of Spiritual Nurture, working with Pastors, Local Churches and Members developing programs, retreats, and worship in the areas of spiritual formation, prayer and healing. During a transitional time in the life of the Conference she also served as Acting Conference Minister. She currently ministers in a 4-Way Covenant with Gestalt Pastoral Care Associates, Inc. (an ecumenical non-profit blending spiritual companioning, prayer and Gestalt work, based on the healing ministry of Christ), Shenkel UCC, and the Ursinus Association of PSEC. She has been a featured guest speaker and preacher at the Chautaugua Institute, Bay View, Northern Michigan.
