The Young Adults will be gathering for a pre-Thanksgiving potluck on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Michael agreed to host, as long as everyone really does bring some food and drink to share (so he doesn’t have to cook it all). The young adult invitation referred to Michael’s “swanky apartment in Francisville”… if that’s not an oxymoron!
But so we don’t tire our appetites out before the big day, here’s the trick: it will be a non-traditional Thanksgiving. Whatever dish you bring to share, use traditional Thanksgiving meal ingredients, but prepare an dish you wouldn’t normally find on the Thanksgiving table.
Turkey pot pie, or turkey noodle soup, or turkey tetrazinni or turkey kurma.
Latkes or Vichyssoise or homemade potato chips.
Cranberry bread or goat cheese cheesecake with honeyed cranberries or garlicy cranberry chutney.
Pumpkin soup or Bolanee Kachalou.
What could you do with corn?
What could you do with stuffing?
What could you do with t-day veggies?
The more creative the better…
As with all our fellowship groups at Old First, others are also welcome.
Please RSVP to Jonathan Atwood (Mindy in the church office can help you with his contact info.) or on the FB Event page (that you can find on the church’s FB page), so that we can get an idea of how many people are coming… And Jonathan, the church office or Michael can give you his address.
