The Outreach SLG is meeting on June 23rd at 6pm to discuss the shelter closing at the end of the month and what this means for revamping the Saturday Cupboard. At this time, the church is looking to hire a COVID-19 specialized cleaning company to do a thorough cleaning of the social hall, bathrooms, nursery, and music room. Once the space is cleaned, we will be able to use it only for necessary service-related operations.
The SLG is hoping to discuss the following questions and invites you to attend and engage in the conversation of how we perform our ministries in the time of COVID-19.
- What shortages are the community experiencing at this time and how can we address those?
- Can the Cupboard work as a smaller ministry of no more than 25 people on a Saturday morning?
- How do we get PPE for volunteers and paper face masks for guests? How do we fund this?
- Can we get enough donations of dry goods to give take-away breakfast by our target date?
All ideas are welcome and all congregants are encouraged to share your ideas. If you can’t make the meeting but have some ideas, please send Billi or Clark an email and we will get the ideas on the table.
