In recent years, our Easter worshiping congregations has brought many more cars to church than the streets around the corner of 4th and Race can handle. Last year the Delaware River Authority has opened space under the Ben Franklin Bridge for parking on Easter, but this year, all this construction equipment for work on the bridge is staged there.
So our friends at the Arch Street Quaker Meeting has opened their parking lot to us. They have said we can use the whole lot. So if you find the streets already crowded. Or if you just wish to head right there and leave a space open for someone else closer to church, please do so.
The entrance to their lot is on the east side of 4th Street, about half way down the block between Arch Street and Market Street — at the end of the tall brick wall. (It’s across from the Wyndham Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn), and before you get to the Presbyterian Home apartments.)
Please display an Old First parking placard (which you can print out at home from this link) on your dashboard and park so there’s as much room for others as possible.
If you need to understand more about the possibilities of street parking (again with a display of the Old First parking placard on your dashboard), please check out this explanation on our website.
