The second week of the Communion Can-do was a great success, with over 250 pounds of food collected on one day. Great job, Old First: the food from our communion table doesn’t stop in worship, but goes out into the world to feed our hungry neighbors. The next Communion Can-do collection will be Sunday, July 3. But we will be accepting food every Sunday at worship (and any other time you want to contribute!).
Right now, we really need plastic bags for packing the groceries. If you save them up for us, or just have your own big stash, please bring them to church (before Saturday if you can!).
Glenside UCC brought a bunch of men’s clothes last Saturday, but we are still running low. If you know a men’s closet you can or need to clean out, we can put any donations to good use. Also, if you know any other ways that we can elicit donations of gently used men’s clothing, please speak with Billi or a member of the Wellspring SLG (chaired by Jill Soubel).
Thanks for all your help. Our numbers of people being served have risen dramatically: with your help, our supply is rising to their need. Thanks be to God and each of you.
