Pleading, Cursing, Praising… Making the Psalms your own – Adult Forum, beginning Sun. Oct. 11 at 9:45

Many people avoid the Psalms (except perhaps Ps. 23) because they don’t think they have any relevance to today’s life. The psalms teach us to tell our story, to cry out our pain, and to give praise to God. They also teach us to listen to the voice of God, the voice of Christ, the voices of the people around us, and the voice of all creation.

Learn to love the Psalms, and incorporate them into your everyday life.

Beginning Oct. 11 and continuing through mid-November, Teresa W., staff member at Old First, will lead you deeper into the Psalter, deeper into your own life and help you learn to talk with God in a different way. Her interactive presentation will be based on the book “Pleading, Cursing, Praising, Conversing with God through the Psalms” by Scripture scholar Irene Nowell, OSB.

Adult Forum is open to all, an informal venue for folks to learn and share more about their faith. Membership not required, all are welcome, every Sunday or any Sunday.
