Potluck after Worship 01.31 To Fuel Us for the Work of the Annual Meeting

We stay at church once a year for the Annual Meeting. To make that possible, we serve ourselves a potluck lunch, with everyone bringing a dish to share.

Please bring food to add to the feast. Don’t worry about what you contribute. We have found that people bring what they wish, and it all works out with more than enough to eat and an interesting variety.

We do ask, however, that you bring your food ready to serve on a serving dish from home. Don’t forget serving utensils too. (It’s a good idea to label your dishes and utensils — just a peice of masking tape with your name in marker works!)

And the more you do to prep before church, the easier on the Hospitality Team that will volunteer in the kitchen to receive the food and set out the spread. Just bring what you are contributing to the Social Hall prior to worship. If it’s ready to serve, simply set it on the serving tables at the east end of the room. If it needs to be refrigerated or kept warm, please take it to the kitchen, where a volunteer will be able to help you.

Also, we have found that we just don’t have the people power to wash all the dishes after the meal. We ask you to take your serving dishes and utensils home and wash them.

As I said, the Hospitality Team for that day will receive the food and set up. But it’s always important to have an adequate sized team for clean up after the meeting. If you would be willing to volunteer for that ‘end of a long day’ duty, please let the church office or me know.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in contact.
