You are invited to a Community Meeting to hold city developers accountable
When: June 6, 2017
Time: 6:30-8:30 PM
Where: Arch Street United Methodist Church
55 N. Broad St.
Free parking in the garage on Arch St. next to the church
Chapel entrance on Broad St., just north of the Masonic Temple
This meeting will show support and explain what public benefit the developers of the Aloft Hotel, to be built at 101 Broad St., will/should provide in exchange for accepting federal funds designated for “impoverished, low income communities”.
The unemployment rate in the area the hotel is to be built is around 7%, compared to 25% city wide and 65% in some neighborhoods. The developer’s application promised 115 permanent, full time jobs related to a destination restaurant that has now been removed from the plan.
Both the hotel developer, Realen, Inc. and operator, HRI, Inc. have been invited to the meeting. The more people who attend, the more likely a public benefit will be achieved for people in our community who deserve it based upon the requirements of these tax payer dollars accepted for the development.
Thanks for your help.
