POWER Leaders' Assembly This Thurs., Jan. 10

POWER Leaders' Assembly This Thurs., Jan. 10

Join your peers, leaders from POWER’s 36 member congregations across the city of Philadelphia for the first Leadership Assembly of 2013:

Thursday, January 10th, 7pm
at Congregation Rodeph Shalom
615 North Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19123

parking lot in back, enter off Green St. or Mt. Vernon St. (between 13th & Broad)

The success of this Assembly and our movement towards concrete policy wins this spring depends on strong turnout (at least 5-10 representives, or entire LOCs) from each POWER congregation.

We will discuss and vote on the following proposal developed by POWER clergy leaders:

~ A proposed 4-month Collective Issue Agenda (winning our Airport Jobs Bill, crafting a Great Schools agenda, building a faith voice for immigration reform, and launching a campaign to promote alternatives to violence and incarceration).

~ A proposed large Public Action meeting with public officials in April to solidify wins and commitments in these 4 areas.

~ Proposed action steps and commitments needed from each congregation to realize these goals

~ Proposals for message frames that capture the essence of our collective work:
“Building a City of Opportunity”
“Toward a City that Works for All”, or
“Opportunity for All”

If you are planning to come, please let Mike Wass know.

Likewise, if you have any questions, please address them to Mike.
