POWER Philly Affordability Story Collection Drive

POWER Philly Affordability Story Collection Drive

How has the Affordability Crisis affected you, or those you know?  POWER Philadelphia wants to hear your stories.

POWER Philly, in partnership with 30 congregations, plans to launch the We Make Philly campaign, an agenda to ensure our city is fully funded and affordable for all, in the wake of skyrocketing costs, and millions of dollars of lost funding.

On February 1st, 500 people gathered at Mother Bethel AME Church for an important conversation with a set of Philadelphia City Councilmembers. In that gathering, councilmembers agreed to work on a report that details the extent of funding cuts, and what it might do to affordability in our city. The data in that report will be essential to helping shape our agenda.

But data will only go so far. POWER and its partner congregations want that report come alive with thousands of stories from real people on how the affordability crisis has impacted them.

So POWER is launching a story collection drive from now until March 1st.  The goal is to collect 2000+ stories of affordability from members of our congregations and neighborhoods.

If you want to participate in this story drive, ask yourself:

  • How have you seen the affordability crisis impact you? Your loved ones?
  • What has the impact been on you and your loved ones?
  • What might happen to you and your loved ones if the cost of living keeps going up?
  • How does that make you feel?

And fill out the form here to submit your story*
