P.O.W.E.R. Regional Gathering, 10/17 to Push our Agenda and Action Ahead

POWER Leaders & Allies:

Tuesday night, Oct. 11, is the first in a series of regional gatherings of POWER congregations and their allies. The Center City Regional Gathering that Old First should send leaders to will be:

Center City POWER congregations Gathering
Monday, 10/17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Mother Bethel AME Church — 419 S. 6th St. 19147

After the success of the Founding Convention — we showed our mayor and other leaders that the faith communities care enough to turn out involved citizens to make this a city that works for everyone — we have serious work ahead. It’s going to take all of us as POWER begins to map out specific strategies within the Change Platform we launched at the Founding Convention.

Gatherings are being organized regionally so that leaders of neighboring congregations can get to know one another.

These gatherings will be a critical as we evaluate our Convention, discuss POWER’s organizational structure, engage in additional community organizing training and develop action steps, goals and plans for the coming year.

Each POWER congregation should be sending a delegation of at least 5-10 members to their regional gathering.  All others interested in learning more about and working with POWER are welcome. Please let Stirling know if you are interested in attending on Monday night, Oct. 17.
