Join with members of POWER congregations and others on Saturday Feb. 24 at the Constitution Center on Independence Mall (Arch St. between 5th and 6th Sts.) at 10 am and later march to Thomas Paine Plaza (1401 JFK Blvd) from for speakers in a National Day of Action demanding an end to an economy rigged in favor of the wealthy and most powerful.
This working peoples’ day of action commemorates the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who 50 years ago joined the sanitation workers in Memphis, TN as they fought for the freedom from unsafe working conditions and the right to fair pay.
During the Feb. 24 Day of Action, we will stand up for the freedom of working people today to join unions that will fight for equitable pay, affordable health care, and a secure future for ALL. Your presence contributes to the number of people which gets the attention of the media, politicians, and corporate actors.
